Competition
flex | FLAT was my entry in the recent PreFab 20*20 pre-fab housing competition. The challenge was to design a 400 square foot home for 2 adults. My scheme created a 330sf base module, with a rolling 70 sf room that could plug into 3 different location to expand different rooms per the needs of the occupants.
The entry speculated this adaptability over the life of a resident; the single person expands the Kitchen into a small ofiice, the couple expands the living room for "entertaining", the budding family creates a small second bedroom.
